Black and white versus color. That’s always a challenge for the photographer in the editing room. While black and white retains a sense of purity through shapes and textures, color can infuse vibrancy and life into a shot. But why not have both? With new techniques and filters being introduced into digital cameras, you can experiment with all types of saturation, from cross processing to vintage sepia.
One of my favorites to play around with is the selective color SMART FILTER on the Samsung NX300.
The Samsung NX300 has four different selective colors available under its Smart Filters feature: red, yellow, green, and blue. What’s great is that you can choose to shoot in either of these modes so you can see how your scene looks before you even take a shot. You are also able to edit an existing shot by applying these filters later on in your editing process. By allowing you to hone in on one color, you’re able to add a fun pop of color and some unexpected drama to your shots.
